FIRST FOOT APPOINTMENT
Your first appointment will include a comprehensive consultation.
A medical history will be taken, along with observations to enable us to understand your
individual needs and decide the treatment that is most suitable for you.
Advice on care and treatment of skin and nails will be covered.
This includes problems like suspected Fungal nail infections, Athlete's Foot, Verrucae, Diabetic foot checks.
Depending on the outcome of your assessment your treatment may
involve nail cutting & filing, callus & corn removal, thickened nails reduced, conservative treatment of ingrowing toenails.
Depending on your needs a follow up appointment may be required to complete your treatment.
Alternatively, you may require exercises,, specific advice or a GP referral.

Cryotherapy treatment works by freezing the fluid in the cells of the wart/verruca which then ruptures, thereby destroying the cells.
CryoPen™ treatment is a quick and pain-free treatment for the removal of warts and verruca.
The CryoPen™ emits a fine jet of nitrous oxide under high pressure.
It's an incredibly accurate device that very precisely targets warts and verruca.
This treatment has a very high accuracy thanks to the Cryopen's precise tip. It will only target the infected area. This ensures healthy skin will not be affected and only the wart/verruca is exposed to the rapid freezing.

Fungal nails can present themselves as being discoloured, yellow or brown and nails can be crumbly, unhealthy, and unsightly looking. Fungal nails are sometimes associated with an odour from the contaminated nail(s). The sufferer is often embarrassed and unwilling to wear open footwear as a result.
It's important to know that the fungal condition will not disappear without treatment!
The affected nail(s) contain a fungal spore that becomes embedded in the layers of the nail and nail bed, which means that they're challenging to treat and cure. These fungal spores are highly contagious and can spread to other healthy nails and skin if not treated quickly. It can lead to athlete’s foot or fungal skin conditions.
The nail light therapy will initially be a course of 3 treatments within 1 week with 1 follow-up treatment and depending on the severity of the fungal nail infection will require further treatments but this will be discussed with you at your initial appointment.
Toenails grow on average 15mm a month. As a result, it takes at least three months for the treatment to be visibly noticeable, and 12 to 18 months for the nail to fully grow out.
